I am also Chair of the LCMC Health Cardiovascular service line, practicing as a cardiologist and interventionalist within the LCMC Health hospital system. I have nearly 25 years of experience treating patients in top hospitals, underserved communities, and military settings. I earned my medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico. I completed fellowships at Tulane University School of Medicine (2001) in Cardiology, Ochsner Clinic and Foundation Hospital (2002) in Interventional Cardiology, and hold a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Columbia University. I am board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology, lead clinical programs, participate in research and clinical trials, and direct global health initiatives through my nonprofit GIVE. I also hold leadership positions in national scientific organizations, including the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the American Heart Association (AHA), and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), and have been recognized as a Healthcare Hero by New Orleans City Business and listed in Castle Connolly Best Doctors.

My little something extra
I'm a foodie. We live in New Orleans, and we have some of the best food in the world. I love trying new restaurants and tasting what makes New Orleans so unique.

I am the founder and President of the Gift Project for Global Cardiovascular Health (GIVE), a nonprofit providing free care and education to patients and caregivers with complex cardiac and vascular conditions in developing countries. In 2022, GIVE launched the Kids Save Lives–Kosovo program, training 400 high school students in CPR and AED use, while also helping advance legislation to make AEDs and CPR training mandatory in schools and public spaces.
