Through the generous support of countless benefactors and community members who give back and help our healthcare facility flourish, Touro Foundation Giving Societies have been established to reinforce Touro’s mission of advancing healthcare and providing comprehensive, effective care for all patients in the New Orleans area. Each giving society with the Touro Infirmary Foundation has different qualifications regarding membership. Through fundraising, donations, and society events, these groups of professionals, leaders, and philanthropists have raised money to further our hospital’s goals.

1852 Society: The 1852 Society offers a new generation of support. It’s an inclusive group created to engage and bring together a new generation of professionals, young families, and leaders who are interested in philanthropy, networking, and investing in their communities. Members 45 years of age and younger, make an annual gift of $185.20 or more to the Touro Infirmary Foundation. The 1852 Society is comprised of young professionals in the community with a goal of raising funds and awareness for the Touro Foundation.

Judah Touro Society: Named for the 19th century philanthropist and founder of Touro Infirmary, the Judah Touro Society is composed of benefactors whose generosity and dedication to the values and mission of Touro Infirmary place them among the hospital’s strongest and most committed supporters. Annual donations to the Judah Touro Society go to the Touro Fund, which supports Touro's ability to improve patient care and meet the ever-changing needs encountered. By participating in annual giving programs at the $1,500 level and above, Judah Touro Society members are essential partners in Touro’s mission to improve the health and well-being of our community.

Bensadon Society: The Bensadon Society is a philanthropic group of physicians with the same vision – patients come first. This Society exists to help further the mission of the Touro Infirmary Foundation and its reach and impact of our patients. Physicians see first-hand the needs of our patient population. Whether it’s an updated unit or area that houses state of the art technology that will provide more advanced treatment for our patients, or vital equipment needed for care that our patients cannot afford and that insurance will not cover, this Society allows a direct line to make a difference in the way care is delivered. This society consists of physicians who donate $2,000 or more to the Foundation annually.
