Aquablation® Therapy at Touro
Touro is proud to be the first hospital in Louisiana to offer Aquablation
therapy® , a cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatment for benign
prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as enlarged prostate. Utilizing
the new HYDROS™ Robotic System, this advanced technology provides
significant, durable relief from BPH symptoms, while preserving both sexual
function and continence.
What is Aquablation® Therapy?
Aquablation therapy is a breakthrough treatment designed for men suffering
from BPH, a condition that affects urinary function as men age. BPH can
lead to symptoms such as:
Urgency to urinate
Frequent urination, especially at night
Difficulty emptying the bladder
If left untreated, BPH can cause serious complications like kidney or bladder
damage, bladder stones, and incontinence.
The standard treatment for BPH has traditionally been surgery, which can
result in unwanted side effects. However, Aquablation therapy offers a
minimally invasive alternative, using AT-powered robotic waterjet technology
to precisely target and remove problematic prostate tissue while protecting
surrounding tissue.
The
Da Vinci Surgical System is a robotic-assisted, minimally invasive urologic surgery under the guidance
of a specially trained surgeon. Da Vinci urological surgeries are often
more precise and require only tiny incisions. Generally, these surgeries
reduce blood loss, post-operation pain, and recovery time .Learn more;>
