Free Educational Seminars at West Jefferson Medical Center
The Center for Surgical Weight Loss (CSWL) at West Jefferson Medical Center conducts regularly scheduled seminars on the first Thursday of every month at 6 PM. During these free seminars, we review the entire bariatric surgery program. Prospective patients are encouraged to register for this seminar as an initial step in their bariatric surgery journey. Spouses or other family members interested in assisting and supporting the patient in the process are also welcome.

Support group
Patients are also encouraged to participate in our free monthly support groups. These meetings are conducted by West Jefferson’s dietitian, and held on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 PM in the West Jeff Fitness Center (Marrero location).

Nutrition services
Registered dieticians trained in weight management are dedicated to assisting you in learning about proper diet habits before and after your surgery. In addition, our coordinators are very knowledgeable about specific nutritional and dietary supplements that have been proven to speed up your weight loss while maintaining properly balanced nutrition. Many of these products are available through our office at discounted prices.
