EJGH Welcomes Steve Baker as Chief Information Officer

East Jefferson General Hospital announces Steve Baker, MBA, CPHIMS, as the new Chief Information Officer. Before joining EJGH, Baker most recently served as IT Executive Director for Architecture and Strategy at UK HealthCare in Lexington, Kentucky. He received his Bachelor of Science and his Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. In addition, Baker is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and is affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Baker will lead the Information Technology Division at East Jefferson General Hospital and has a strong background in healthcare information management. He will oversee the development and guidance of the increasingly important role of technology as it relates to overall healthcare, management of patients records, and the electronic infrastructure and advancements.

“Information Technology impacts every area of the healthcare system,” says Baker. “Every day we come to work, our ultimate goal is to provide the supporting services and tools needed for better patient outcomes. Therefore, our role at EJGH needs to focus on process improvements, leaner workflows, and collaborative relationships with the clinical and administrative teams all while ensuring accurate and secure data collection at the point of service.”
