Take a moMENt and do something for yourself and your health
A recent study shows that when questioned, 72 percent of men said they
would rather do household chores, even cleaning a bathroom, than make
an appointment to see a doctor. It’s no surprise that men don’t
regularly see a doctor, either for a wellness visit or to address a specific
symptom. The reasons are many, but LCMC Health is here to encourage you
not to be in that number. We offer you a comprehensive overview of screening
tests and vaccinations that are important to your health.
If you are among those who have ignored your health for too long, we encourage
you to schedule a wellness checkup; your life may depend on it.

Colorectal cancer—cancer that starts in the colon or rectum—is
one of the most common gastrointestinal cancers. It’s also highly
treatable if diagnosed early. That’s where screening can help.
Talk with your PCP about when you should start colorectal cancer screening.
Adults at average risk for colorectal cancer should start having regular
screenings at age 45, but you may need to start earlier if you have risk
factors. At LCMC Health, we offer several screening options, including
colonoscopy. Colonoscopy is the only form of colorectal cancer screening
in which gastroenterologists can find and remove precancerous growths
called polyps in one procedure.
