Gregory's Story: Taking the First Step Toward Answers

When Gregory Jackson began having trouble urinating, he knew something was not right. He made an appointment at Touro, where further testing revealed prostate cancer.

The diagnosis was unexpected. Gregory had kept up with regular checkups and screenings, but he and his wife were suddenly faced with difficult decisions about what came next. With support from his care team, he learned about his options and chose to move forward with treatment.

Today, Gregory looks back on that first appointment as an important turning point.

"If I wouldn't have got screened, I don't know if I would even be alive today."

Now, he shares his experience with others through his church's men's ministry, encouraging the men around him not to put off conversations about their health. He is also an active participant in Touro's Amazing Agers program, where he continues to learn ways to stay engaged in his health and well-being.

For Gregory, the message is simple: pay attention when something does not feel right, keep up with regular care and take the first step toward getting answers.
