Why Touro’s accreditations and certifications are important?
It builds trust and confidence knowing that your care providers have taken
advanced, voluntary steps to meet quality and outcome standards comparable
to highly recognized heart care programs nationwide. We don’t take
our reputation for top-notch cardiology for granted. We are constantly
striving for excellence, and it shows in the certifications and accreditations
we’ve received.
Touro understands that we can give you the best care when you feel comfortable
in our healthcare setting knowing that our cardiovascular programs are
considered the best of the best, have been evaluated by industry leaders
and are commended for providing comprehensive, advanced, quality heart
care to the New Orleans region.
Touro is proud to have received the Gold Seal of Approval® for Chest
Pain in 2021 for our compliance with strict standards for heart care.
The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Chest Pain Certification
is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment
to providing safe and effective patient care. A rigorous on-site review
takes place every two years, and our chest pain certification is based
on our clinical programs, compliance with national standards, and performance
measurements.
This designation reflects our commitment to a higher standard of care for
our patients experiencing chest pain, and we’ll continue to provide
nothing less for our patients and our community.
Touro’s Stroke Certification
Touro has demonstrated the greatest level of commitment to stroke care
protocols as well through its
Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with stroke-related standards
and requirements, including program management, the delivery of clinical
care and performance improvement.
Touro also received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s
Get with The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award
recognizing our commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most
appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based
guidelines. Touro earned the award by meeting specific quality achievement
measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients.
