Some heart conditions or procedures may require surgery or hospitalization,
with close monitoring and/or rehabilitation. Touro’s inpatient cardiac
services are a safe, supportive environment to regain strength, function,
and independence before returning home. It is an ideal setting to recover
under the supervision and care of our cardiovascular specialists and nurses
trained in advanced cardiovascular life support. Touro’s recently
renovated 14-bed unit is dedicated to our patients recovering from heart
and vascular health issues.
Our cardiologist and cardiovascular surgeons have a well-deserved reputation
for expert, personalized care using the leading diagnostic tools. On our
heart and vascular inpatient unit, are specially trained physicians, nurses,
patient care technicians, and cardiac rehab therapists, work together
to care for our cardiac patients. We believe providing superior inpatient
care helps our patients get on the mend more quickly, so they can get
back to their regular activities. Our inpatient services include:
Surgery
We evaluate each patient to determine if a non-surgical treatment will
be beneficial, but sometimes, surgery is the only way to repair cardiovascular
damage. We offer surgical and minimally-invasive procedures to repair
hearts with blocked, narrowed arteries.
Intensive Care Unit
Some patients may require a more advanced level of care after a cardiac
surgical procedure, in which patients may be cared for in Touro's Intensive
Care Unit. Our ICU team is experts in caring for cardiac patients. Our
goal for patients in ICU or our Cardiac Inpatient Unit is to help you
quickly recover so that you may return to normal activities as soon as you can.
Cardiac Inpatient Unit
After almost any surgical procedure, you and your vital signs will need
close monitoring. Our Cardiac Inpatient Care Unit provides the ideal setting
for you to recover from surgery, in the care of our specialists and dedicated
nursing staff.
Touro offers garage parking with convenient skybridge hospital access.
Patients can park in the Delachaise Street Parking Garage or the Prytania
Street Parking Garage. Both garages have hospital access on the 3rd floor.
Patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures will have their parking
validated.
Cafeteria
Café Touro is located on the 2nd floor of the hospital and open
to patients, visitors, and staff seven days a week. Dining options include
daily chef’s features, grill specialties, freshly made sushi, custom
sandwiches and grab and go salads.
