EJGH Hires Foundation Manager

Tammy Schulz

The Foundation at East Jefferson General Hospital, the hospital’s philanthropic and fundraising arm, has hired Tammy Schulz in the role of Foundation Manager. Schulz brings more than 28 years of experience to The Foundation, most recently with the Energy Equity Group of Scotia Howard Weil.

While being a not-for-profit, community hospital, EJGH actually receives no financial support from the Parish. The funds needed to operate are derived from the services the hospital performs and is paid for, and the revenues generated through the fund-raising efforts of The Foundation.

Hollie Ericksen, Foundation Board Chair is thrilled to have Tammy onboard, “Tammy brings an energy and set of talents that we believe are a perfect fit as our Foundation continues to grow and adapt to the changing faces of philanthropy and healthcare.”

Ms. Schulz was born in Chalmette and attended LSU. She is married with two children and is excited about this new opportunity, “To be able to represent the physicians, nurses, team members and administrators of this great hospital is an honor.” Schulz says the fact that independent ranking services grade the care at EJGH as #1 of all the hospitals in Louisiana means she can approach community leaders and donors with confidence that they are supporting the kind of hospital our region needs.

The funds raised through The Foundation directly impact care delivered at EJGH. In addition to assisting in the purchase of new technologies, some of The Foundation’s larger Capital Campaigns have included the building of the EJ Wellness Center and the expansions of both the EJGH Regional Cancer Center and the EJGH Breast Care Center. The Foundation is a 501 C-3 not-for-profit entity.
