OB Nurse Navigators
Meet Touro’s OB Nurse Navigators
As any expectant parents know, the anticipation of giving birth can be both exciting and overwhelming. At Touro, our OB Nurse Navigators are here to support you throughout your pregnancy journey to help you feel more comfortable from pregnancy to postpartum.
To speak with one of our nurse navigators please call 504.897.7319.
What you can expect:
Once you reach the end of your first trimester, our OB nurse navigators will give you a call to introduce themselves and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Expect a check-in call from our nurse navigators at 23 weeks and 33 weeks. They are here to help you schedule prenatal classes, assistance in selecting a pediatrician, connect you to community resources or answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Looking to take a prenatal class but not sure which one? Our nurse navigators are here to assist you in choosing and scheduling classes that best fit your needs.
Whenever you’re ready to take a tour of the Family Birthing Center, give your nurse navigator a call. Tours are scheduled Monday-Saturday with the last tour at 6 pm.
Our nurse navigators will check in with you during your hospital stay. You will receive all the resources and educational materials you need for when you’re ready to take your little one home.
You can expect a call from our nurse navigator after you have been discharged. They can assist you with lactation questions, birth certificate application, or connect you to community resources that best fit your needs.
Our nurse navigators will contact you 24-48 hours prior to your scheduled induction or c-section and go over any pre-op instructions if necessary.
Your navigator is your personal guide throughout your journey to motherhood. If you have any questions or concerns our navigators are available 6 days a week: Monday-Saturday 7 am-7 pm to help get the answers you need to feel comfortable and confident throughout your pregnancy.
